The Federal Agency on Fishery of the Russian Federation
The Federal Agency on Fishery of the Russian Federation (Rosrybolovstvo) is an executive body of the Russian Federation organized by virtue of the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation #724 on May 12, 2008, by reorganization of the State Fishery Committee of the Russian Federation which existed earlier.
Rosrybolovstvo is a federal executive body with policy-making and regulatory functions in the fishery industry, production activity of fishing fleet vessels, protection, sound management, observation, conservation and reproduction of the aquatic biological resources and their habitat. Besides, the agency controls and supervises the aquatic biological resources and their habitat in the inland waters of the Russian Federation and administers the state assets in the area of commercial fishing activities and so on.
