V. Olersky, deputy Minister of Transport of RF, greeted guests, participants and organizers of Marine Industry of Russia International Forum

Dear participants of the Forum!
Let me greet all visitors and participants of the International forum «Russian Maritime Industry» on behalf of the Ministry of transport of the Russian Federation!
The first priority of the transport policy of the Russian Federation is to set up and develop a modern transportation infrastructure, ensuring an unimpeded and fast transit of goods and passengers, to decrease the freight costs, to develop the industrial and raw materials segments, and finally, to create conditions for the growth of national economy and to enhance the presence of Russia in the global markets.
The sea and river carriages, along with other types of transportation and infrastructural sub-industries, determine the living conditions of the population; they are a significant means in achieving social, economic and foreign policy objectives.
By servicing a major part of the foreign trade operations, the marine transport acts as well as a tool of the economic and political influence of Russia at the international stage.
In order to satisfy the economy demand for the transportation and transfer of goods, to enhance the safety of citizens on transport we launched federal purpose-oriented programs in 2010, among which are «The development program of the transportation system of Russia (2010-2015) and «The all-in program of safety on transport».
The international forum « Russian Maritime Industry » is intended to contribute to the development of shipbuilding, upgrade of ports and improvement of the maritime traffic. The forum is not only a convenient platform to demonstrate the achievements of the maritime industry, but it is also a fine opportunity to draw the attention of businesses to the current industry problems in order to estimate the results and to identify the direction for further development.
I wish successful work, new contacts, and positive decisions to everyone here at the Forum!

V.A.Olersky
Deputy Minister of transport of the Russian Federation,
