I welcome all the guests and participants of the II International Forum “Russian Maritime Industry”!
At this point of the county’s economic development the merchant marine fleet of Russia as a part of the Russian transport system is facing ambitious goals, including the following:
to ensure competitive advantage of the Russian fleet companies;
to increase the share of the Russian-flagged vessels in the foreign trade shipping operations from 6% up to 40% in 2030;
to build new vessels in compliance with international standards;
to develop shipping industry in the Arctic.
It is necessary to ensure appropriate conditions to successfully solve the issues listed above. Work in this direction is already under way. However, its progress is slow and requires speeding up.
In this context, it is extremely important to take steps aimed towards the development of the domestic shipbuilding industry, improvement of tax and customs regulations, and stimulation of the Russian banking system to invest into national shipbuilding industry.
The given circumstances necessitate re-arrangement of the interaction between the participants of the Russian marine industry and the related industries.
International Forum “Russian Maritime Industry” offers an opportunity to work out suggestions and recommendations for resolving the problems of the shipping industry based on the shared experiences and opinions, thus contributing to the achievement of the set goals, elimination of bottlenecks in the fleet operation and implementation of the national marine policy.
I wish you all successful work during the Forum for the benefit of the Russian Fleet!
