Transas specialists updated a navigation control simulator installed at Admiral Ushakov Maritime State Academy with a dynamic positioning system class 2. So, the Academy became the first training unit on the south of Russia performing training of dynamic positioning system operators.
The system was embedded into a multi-purpose navigation control simulator (Transas). The module simulates a real ship dynamic positioning system designated for maintaining a vessel position in a fixed point over the bottom. The simulator ensures simulation of various vessels in various areas and conditions.
Need for qualified dynamic positioning system operators in Russia boomed following active development of shelf oil and gas fields.
