Pedal-Powered Submarine

At the last Paris Air Show a submarine with a pedal drive was introduced. The vessel under the name Scubster was engineered by Stephane Rousson and Minh-Loc Truong. The construction uses Strida bike parts and the hull is made of carbic epoxy. The maximum speed is 10 km/h.
The submarine is expected to be used for sea-bed exploitation and oceanographic research. Besides, its constructors hope to become the first French team to participate in the International Submarine Race (USA).
