Transas Company effected delivery of multifunctional navigation control simulator NTPro 400 to the Saint-Petersburg State University for Waterways Communications. The system was put into operation on December 4, 2009, and was timed to the celebration of 200-th anniversary of the University.
The delivery set comprised two navigating bridges for training and certification of watch, chief officers, captains, pilots of merchant and fishing vessels with registered tonnage from 500 tons. The simulator can also be used in training and operation of small boat navigators. It gets specific of navigation training on Russian inland waterways. The software includes a number of navigation river areas with difficult zones.
Besides, the Ministry of Transportation of the Russian Federation certified a new version of navigation control simulators Navi-Trainer Professional (NT Pro) 5000 in the middle of December. Earlier, the simulator was approved by the Norwegian classification association DNV.
Version 5000 takes into account users’ experience and is based on the latest engineering developments of the company. Combination of the simulator and multifunction display EKSNIS Navi-Sailor 4000 widely used aboard helps attendees to undergo the most effective training. EKSNIS Navi-Sailor 4000 comprises EKSNIS, radar and marine equipment data integrator.
