February 25, 2010

On February 23, 2010, at Aksoy Shipyard (Gelibolu, Turkey), multi-purpose dry-cargo vessel Modulus 3, 4400 ton DWT, was launched. The vessel was constructed by order of Albros Shipping Comp. (Raim Alkeperov, Director General).

According to the Marine Engineering Bureau, author of the vessel project, length overall of Modulus 3 is 89.17 m, beam 15.6 m, hull height 6.80 m. The RMRS class of the vessel is KM Ice3 R1 AUT3. With salt water draught equal to 5.286 m, the deadweight is approximately 4400 tons; and with salt water draught 4.5 m, the DWT is approximately 3420 tons. The ballast tank volume is 2,066 cubic meters.

The single hold is shaped as a molding box with naked walls which is convenient for handling operations and cargo placing without stowing. This makes 003RSD04/ALB03 project vessels attractive in terms of delivery equipment for intensive development of the Caspian shelf. Substandard cargo packages can be delivered without transshipment from any European or Persian Gulf port by inland waterways of the Russian Federation to the Caspian Sea.

All in all today there are vessels 11 of 003RSD04 project and its modifications 003RSD04/ALB02 and 003RSD04/ALB03 in operation.
