In 8 Years Admiralteyskie Verfi Relocated to Another Place

June 17, 2010

On June 17 as part of Saint-Petersburg International Economic Forum, the city administration, OAO Admiralteyskie Verfi and United Shipbuilding Corporation entered into an agreement on relocating Admiralteyskie Verfi to Kronshtadt.

According to the Governor of Saint-Petersburg Valentina Matvienko, “the document offers new opportunities and prospects for urban construction in Saint-Petersburg.” The Governor highlighted that the agreement would make it possible for the enterprise to obtain new state-of-the-art production facilities with a dry dock, and for the city, very precious grounds. Under the agreement, Saint-Petersburg obtains 17 ha where 200 thousand square meters of living and commercial spaces can be constructed. The agreement provides that all funds received from use of these grounds to be channeled for construction of a new enterprise. The city’s money will be used in implementation of the project part related to war shipbuilding while the rest will be funded by Vnesheconombank. The corresponding agreement has already been entered into.

According to president of OAO OSK Roman Trotsenko, the relocation project is to amount to RUR 20 bln.

The first relocation stage consists in construction of a bridge between Vasilievsky and Novo-Admiralteysky islands. The 2 year construction is to start in 2011. The relocation is to be completed in 2016.

“The implementation of the general relocation plan is to take 8 years, but we intend to reduce the time to 6 years”, said President of OAO OSK Roman Trotsenko.
