A meeting of the Board of Directors of ”Murmansk Shipping Company”

The regular meeting of the Board of Directors of JSC ”Murmansk Shipping Company” was held. At the meeting were examined planning issues, including a report on the outcome of trade and procurement activities of the company for the 4th quarter 2011. Total expenditure on procurement of the company is reduced during the reporting period in average of 32%.
In addition, the Board of Directors considered the development proposals on the application of voluntary mechanisms of environmental responsibility to the companies with state participation. It was noted the effective work of the Murmansk Shipping Company and subsidiaries: JSC ”Northern Shipping Company” and JSC ”Northern River Shipping” to ensure environmental safety and environmental disciplines in all activities.
It was also noted that the transport fleet of all three companies successfully implement the work on traditional areas – Ust-Luga, Vysotsk, Antwerp, Ghent, Lithuania, Alexandria, Rotterdam, Hull.
In the Murmansk Shipping Company is actively working on development of transport in the nontraditional areas either – vector is shifted to the Antarctic and Arctic projects. Successful operation of the supply vessels reinforced ice-class Arctic “Ivan Papanin” and icebreaker ”Vladimir Ignatuk” in Antarctica confirmed plans for the company’s vessels to participate in the work on the Arctic shelf.
