Admiralteyskiye Verfi Finish Constructing Two Submarines of Project 636

Admiralteyskiye Verfi are finishing the construction of two diesel-electric submarines of “Kilo” class (Project 636). Before the end of April, 2010, the submarines are to be delivered to the foreign contractor.
Submarines with diesel-electric engine are in great demand at the international market, says General Director of Admiralteyskiye Verfi, OJSC, Vladimir Alexandrov. The updated project 636 submarine offered to prospect customers is equipped with missile-torpedo batteries capable of engaging sea and surface targets. The enterprise is arranging for construction of a series of submarines to be exported.
Besides, the matter of market launch for new generation Amur-class submarines designed by the marine equipment central construction department “Rubin” is under consideration.
