“Admiralteyskiye Verfi” Intend to Deliver Project 636 Kilo-class Submarines to the Customer by End of April, 2010

“Admiralteyskiye Verfi” intend to deliver two Kilo-class diesel-electrical submarines (project 636) to the customer by end of April, 2010. According to the information presented by the shipyard, the submarines equipped with diesel-electrical engine are in demand on the international market. Their marketability is ensured by high acoustic concealment, target detection range, mobility potential, control automation and weapon power.
At “Admiralteyskiye Verfi”, such submarines are constructed batchwise. The updated project 636 submarine currently offered to prospect customers is equipped with missile-torpedo batteries capable of engaging sea and surface targets. The enterprise is arranging for construction of a series of submarines to be exported. Besides, the matter of market launch for new generation Amur-class submarines designed by the marine equipment CDB “Rubin” is under consideration.
“Admiralteyskiye Verfi” keep specialized in the field of submersible craft construction. By today the yard have constructed more than 300 submarines (of that 41 nuclear-powered), 68 deep-operating and underwater vehicles.
