Governor of the Amur Region Met in Moscow with Head of Rosrybolovstvo

On May 26 in Moscow, Oleg Kozhemyako met with Head of the Federal Fishery Agency Andrey Krayniy.

At the meeting, Kozhemyako suggested speeding up the process of amending federal laws which regulate issues of granting preferences to those Russian fishery managers who purchase small home-built vessels under lease purchase contracts.

According to Oleg Kozhemyako, the state support to fishermen for upgrade and renewal of the fishery fleet will make it possible to complement portfolio of orders of Blagoveschensk Shipyard which has started to build small seiners this year. Currently, fishery enterprises purchase small seiners under too disadvantageous conditions: leasing companies require 20% advance payments and set 14-16% average annual property cost rise which eventually causes prices to increase by 40-60% for a few years of installment.

According to the press-service of the regional administration, Oleg Kozhemyako believes inclusion of small seiners built in Blagoveschensk and other Russian shipbuilding enterprises into the equipment list recommended by OAO Rosagroleasing for financial lease starting from 2010 to be one of the state support measures. Andrey Krayniy approved all suggestions of the Governor and declared his determination to render every kind of assistance in their implementation.
