The Ministry of Transportation of the Russian Federation Introduced to Federal Authorities a Draft Bill On Support to the Navigation and Shipbuilding

The Ministry of Transportation of the Russian Federation introduced to the federal authorities a draft bill of the new federal law On Measures for Support to the Navigation and Shipbuilding Industry in the Russian Federation. This was reported by Viktor Olersky, Deputy Minister of the Transport of the Russian Federation, in the course of the general meeting of members of the Association of Shipping Companies (ASC), informs the journalist of IAA PortNews.

“Today we introduce the bill to the federal authorities,” said Viktor Olersky having briefly explained the essence of the initiative: “If you want benefit from tax and other preferences, you should build vessels on the territory of the Russian Federation.”

“The bill is to be brought to the Government by end of March,” added he.

As previously reported by IAA PortNews, the working group of the Ministry of Transportation of the Russian Federation with the participation of representatives of engaged federal executive bodies and business prepared a draft of the new federal law On Measures for Support to the Navigation and Shipbuilding Industry. Viktor Olersky noticed that the initiative of the Ministry of Transportation is well timed and “there are serious reasons for the deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation to promote and adopt the law”.
