Patrol Boats for Azerbaijan

In summer of 2010 construction of WC 1500 project patrol boats for needs of the Azerbaidjan State Customs was completed at Baltic Workboats AS, Estonia.

Marine Technics Company Group (Saint-Petersburg) participated in this project. The Group prepared statement of work, selected a project meeting the customer’s requirements, undertook to equip boats with advanced devices, control construction, fulfill financial commitments, ensure acceptance by a classification society as well as handing boats over to the customer and delivery to the basing site.

The works started in July 2008 when Marine Technics specialists arrived to Baku with a view to discuss the customs’ needs. But the global financial crisis constrained implementation of the project.

The first boat was accepted in November 2009, while the next two were completed in January and March 2010 and accepted in May after the sea trials.

Marine Technics specialists highlight good workmanship of the Estonian shipyard: boats’ exterior, perfect steams, tight-knit interior. At the sea trials boats showed high nautical performance: with 2 m waves and heavy air they made 40-42 knots (design provides for 37).
