Buoy Vessel Construction for the Arkhangelsk Branch of Rosmorport to Begin on March 12, 2010

The construction of a buoy vessel for the Arkhangelsk branch of Rosmorport is to start on March 12, 2010, at the shipyards of the 176th shiprepair plant, branch of OAOSRC “Zvezdochka” (Severodvinsk). According to the press-service of the company, the contract for construction of 1760M project vessel was signed by SRZ-176 and FGUP Rosmorport in December, 2009, following the results of the tender held by the customer. According to the contract, the vessel construction time is 18 months.

The new buoy vessel with DWT of 90 tons has overall length of 21 m and beam of 6.6 m. It will be equipped with a manipulator-crane for buoy deployment and heaving up. The vessel is to be named “Vavchuga” and will be used by the Arkhangelsk branch of FGUP Rosmorport to support operation of the Arkhangelsk Sea Port.

OAO “Ship-Repair Center “Zvezdochka” is a multi-field present-day engineering plant. The yard is provided with two covered slipways each having 7 staple places for repair and construction of vessels and ships weighing up to 18 thousand tons.
