“Caspian Energy” Concluded Contract for Construction of a Drilling Platform for OOO “PetroResurs”

Caspian Energy Company Group (CNRG Group) and OOO “PetroResurs” concluded a contract for implementation of the first stage of the project on design and construction of shallow self-elevating platform which is the main component of the offshore drilling facilities of the Lagansky Block. According to the press-service of the CNRG Group, the relevant document was signed today in the administration of the Astrakhan Region in the presence of the Governor Alexander Zhilkin.
Conceptual and detailed design as well as platform construction activities for subsequent drilling equipment placement are the part of the contractual requirements. All design works are to be carried out by OAO “CDB Corall”, affiliate of engineering division of Caspian Energy Group. The platform will be constructed at two Astrakhan production sites of the Group simultaneously. The General Director of Caspian Energy Group Ilya Kokarev pointed that “appearance of new participants in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea is to affect favorably the development of offshore field development and construction markets”. The first stage is to be completed before year-end 2010, specified in CG.
“The construction of own self-elevating platform is an important step in implementing the project on hydrocarbons exploration at the Lagansky Blosk of the Caspian shelf,” said the General Director of OOO “PetroResurs” Daniil Schedrov.
