Deep-water container terminal to Be Constructed in the Port of Sri-Lanka

Deep-water container terminal will be constructed in the port of Sri-Lanka. This is according to American mass-media.

“Today, we are on the final stage of negotiations with investors including the Chinese Trading Holding and we hope, that the construction will start within the nearest future. The new container terminal will allow us to increase significantly the throughput of the port” the Chief of Sri-Lanka port said, as Transport Business announces.

The container turnover of Sri-Lanka port during 2009 constituted 4 million TEUs.
