Russia Develops Promising Domestic Aircraft Carrier

According to RIA Novosti, admiral Vladimir Vysotsky, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, informed on activities for creation of a domestic aircraft carrier.
“We have never shelved the issue of constructing a promising aircraft carrier for the Russian Navy and our country’s leadership have never withdrew its order. The engineering design documentation will be ready by this year-end,” said Commander-in-Chief.
The dream aircraft carrier is to strengthen the air defense, maintain on-line mode in time of peace and ensure control in time of war.
According to experts, it will be a nuclear-powered 50,000–60,000 dwt aircraft carrier. In the same declaration Commander-in-Chief highlighted that the state would have to lay out a target program to this end.
