The Construction of Federal Objects in Rostov All-Purpose Port Is to Amount to RUR 5 bln.

According to Valery Annenkov, DGD FGU Rostransmodernizatsiya, the volume of financing of design and construction works to be executed at federal objects in the multimodal transport-logistics node (MTLN) “Rostov All-Purpose Port” (the Rostov Region) is to amount RUR 5 bln.

Of that sum, RUR 317 mln. are to be assigned for the development of construction project of the federal component of MTLN.

“On January 13, 2010, a state contract was concluded with Pyatigorskenergoproekt Institute for the development of this project. The document is to be sent for the state expertise review till the end of the current year. We believe it will take at most 6 months and we will be able to start construction from the second half of 2011. That is because private investors have already started active work on the project” – V. Annenkov said.

According to him, the list of federal objects to be constructed within the framework of MTLN comprises the port water area, 3 moorings, including berths for bulk cargoes and port auxiliary service fleet, traffic interchange and access to M4 automobile road, and rail infrastructure.

The financing of design and construction works is to be provided within the framework of the Federal Target Programme for the Development of the Transport Infrastructure of the Russian Federation in 2010-2015.

As previously reported, Azov-Don Shipping Company Group (the Rostov Region) intends assign RUR 1.5 bln. for the construction of Rostov All-Purpose Port which is the basis of MTLN. From the beginning of the implementation in 2006 and including 2009, the volume of investments amounted approximately RUR 1.5 bln.

By 2016, the design capacity of the Rostov All-Purpose Port is to be 16 mln. tons of cargo annually. The expected annual volume of transshipment is to be: corn – 2 mln. tons, coal – 4 mln. tons, mineral fertilizers – 1.5 mln. tons.
