The contract to construct three tankers was concluded in April, 2008. The option for the fourth vessel was confirmed in summer 2008 with delivery date appointed for October, 2010.
The first tanker “Titan” was received by the customer in October, 2009, ahead of schedule. In according to the contractual terms, the second tanker “Enceladus” is to be handed over in June while the third in July of the current year.
The tankers of the project are of river-sea class and are currently the largest river-going vessels. The vessel’s overall length amounts to 141 m, beam – 16.9 m, hull height – 6.1 m, draught – 3.73/3.60 m, DWT – 5530/5030, cargo tank volume – 6720 m3, rate of sailing not less 10 knots, crew 14/16 people and cruising capacity – 15/10 days. The navigating zone comprises inland waterways and sea non-Arctic regions in line with a vessel class.
The vessel type is a one-deck motorboat, all-welded, steel, twin-screw, with fixed pitch propellers, foredeck, afterdeck, 12 cargo tanks and two slop tanks, fore-and-aft bulkhead in the centerline plane, communicating bridge, beam-width covered pilot house. The tanker is to be used for transportation of diesel fuel, black strap, petrochemicals and crude oil. The vessel class is КМ * Ice1 R2-RSN AUT3 VCS Oil tanker/Chemical tanker type 2 (vegetable oil) (ESP).
Krasnoe Sormovo Plant is one of the oldest Russian shipbuilding facilities founded in 1849.
