LUKoil Constructed a Drill Tower

On March 25 in Kaliningrad at the construction metal structure plant OOO “LUKoil-Kaliningradmorneft” (owned by OAO “LUKoil” by 100%) was presented the first Russian drill tower “Ermak”. As SeaNews was informed by LUKoil, the drill tower was constructed by order of Eurasia Drilling Company.
The unit is equipped with unique hydraulic mobility system by means of which the drilling tower can step-by-step move in any direction and turn round. It can be used both for production and exploratory drilling.
The drilling tower load capacity is 450 tons and drilling depth down to 6.5 ths m. It is also equipped with a 2000 h.p. draw-works, three boring pumps 1600 h.p. each, 500 ton top-drive and 1150 h.p. rotary table.
“Ermak” is adapted for operation in different climatic zones, particularly, at the High North and at elevated temperatures.
