Yenisey River Shipping Company Plans Construction of New Lead Ships in 2010

PortNews with reference to the press-service of Yenisey River Shipping Company and the statement of Vladimir Klimenkov, the head of cargo and commercial operations, informs that Yenisey River Shipping Company (YRSC, Krasnoyarsk) is to begin construction of lead barges of new series in 2010.

“The navigation-2010 is to be not less successful than 2009. With new oil-sector customers coming, I believe that this navigation is going to be even better than it was last year. The construction of lead vessels of new series – 1,000 and 3,000 ton barges – and continuation of construction of the most demanding 2,000 ton barge are in the works” – he said.

According to the information from the company, the construction of new vessels and repair of fleet will ensure participation of the company in such major projects realized in the Krasnoyarsk territory as reclamation of Lower Priangarie, erection of Boguchanskaya hydroelectric power plant, development of Yurubcheno-Tokhom oil deposit, and putting of Vankorskoye oil field into operation.

It was previously reported that RUR 375 mln. are to be assigned from the budget of YRSC for interim and running repair of 458 units of the fleet within the framework of preparation for the navigation-2010.

It is a reminder that Yenisey River Shipping Company, OJSC, finished navigation-2009 in the second half of November with about 3.4 mln. tons of cargoes having been transported. The main bulk of freight was falls at cargoes of Norilsk Nikel Company Group. Mining and smelting company Norilsk Nikel owns 43.92% of the shipping company’s shares (51.91% of ordinary shares) and the Federal Agency for the Administration of the Federal Property owns 25.5 % (32.28% of ordinary shares). According RAS, net profit of YRSC for 9 months of 2009 grew by 20% in comparison with the same index of the previous year and amounted to RUR 517.91 mln.
