OMZ-Foundry Will Fabricate 6 Propeller Screws for SRC Zvezdochka (Severodvinsk)

OMZ-Foundry, part of OMZ Group, signed a contract with OAO SRC Zvezdochka (Severodvinsk) for delivery of 6 propeller screws 2.8 m in diameter and 6.1 tons each. End item acceptance will be held under the control of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, says the communication of OMZ.
According to the enterprise, earlier OMZ-Forgery fabricated hull castings by order of OAO Severnaya Verf, namely stern boss and tail post for the lead frigate Admiral Gorshkov launched in March, 2010. Currently the preparation of pouring similar heavy castings for the second frigate of the series – Admiral Kasatonov.
Under the contract with OAO Admiralteyskie Verfi, the enterprise also fabricates a set of castings with gross weight of more than 200 tons. The castings will be used at a new research vessel to be operated in northern latitudes. Stem post and tail post have already been casted.
