Panel Discussion on River Shipbuilding

August 14, 2010

On September 8, 2010, the panel discussion “River Shipbuilding in Russia: Challenges and Future Considerations” will take place in Moscow.

It will be dedicated to such demand stimulation mechanisms as limitation of ships’ life, development of leasing schemes in the river shipbuilding branch, shipowners’ access to credit funds by state banks and progress conditions of the industry (technical re-equipping, technological development, availability of large orders for series of ships). In addition to it, global experience of the development in such countries as China, South Korea, Turkey will be discussed.

The panel discussion will result in a resolution with a list of proposals for state industrial policy making in the branch. The document will be based on the research “River Shipbuilding in Russia: Challenges and Future Considerations” conducted with a view of the panel discussion.
