The Onezhsky Shipbuilding Plant (Petrozavodsk) Prepared a Launch of dry-cargo carrier Karelia

On February 27, 2010, the forebody of DCV33 multipurpose dry-cargo carrier Karelia with DWT of 4570 tons was stapled at the Onezhsky Shipbuilding Plant (Petrozavodsk, the Republic of Karelia). This was reported by the Marine Engineering Bureau, author of the vessel project.

The DCV33 project vessel is classified as a European coaster class vessel meeting commercial and port requirements regulating shipments in EC ports. The vessel complies with Germanischer Lloyd: Hull: 100 A5 E2, G, DBC, SOLAS II-2, Reg.19, Multi Purpose Dry Cargo Ship, Equipped for Carriage of Containers; Machinery: MC E2 AUT. DCV33 project ship is designated for sea shipping of general and bulk cargoes (including 20- and 40-feet international standard containers with height of 9 feet, metal, cereals, wood, coal, bulky and heavy cargoes, 1.4S, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.1, 8, 9 class and Annex B of Code BC dangerous goods).

Prime fuel is IFO380. Transverse thruster capacity is 170 kW. Sea endurance is 30 days. Crew consists of 11 persons (12 places).

The first two vessels of the series (EMI PROUD, EMI LEADER) were constructed for Eestinova OU (Oleg Malyshev, CEO, and Nikolay Sharonov, Fleet Manager).

“Dmitry Varvarin”, the third vessel of the series, was commissioned on November 24, 2009, and “Ivan Kudryavtsev”, the fourth, on December 4, 2009.
