Plant ”Red Sormovo” continues to build tankers.

The keel laying ceremony of the ship with yard number 02 003 was carried out 03.10.2011 (start of metal cutting – 08/31/2011). The lead ship (building number 02 001) was laid down 31.08. 2011 (start cutting – 15/07/2011).

The customer – shipping company “VF Tanker” (managing director Sergei Bryzgalov, the company is a part of holding VBTH, the majority shareholder of which is an international transport group Universal Cargo Logistics Holding, consolidating a number of Russian shipping, stevedoring and shipbuilding companies).

The project RST27 is designed by Marine Engineering Bureau. Contours of the vessel of the new project are the product of research conducted in 2010, were created using methods of computational fluid mechanics (CFD modeling) and model has been tested in the basin of Krylov Shipbuilding Research Institute named after Acad. Krylov.

In comparison with other projects of the Bureau tanker RST27 has enhanced river function, increased by 700 tons deadweight in the river (when compared to the “Armada”).

Class Russian Maritime Register of Shipping – KM Ice1 R2 AUT1-ICS OMBO VCS ECO-S Oil tanker (ESP).

Tankers of project RST27 satisfy dimensions of Volga-Don Canal and Volga – Baltic Way. Overall length is 140.85 m, width – 16,6 m, depth – 6.0 m. They belong to the tanker “Volga-Don max” class.

In the design are taken into account the special requirements of Russian and international oil companies, the additional environmental restrictions Class Russian Maritime Register of Shipping “ECO PROJECT” (ECO-S). Vessel project RST27 is designed to carry crude oil and petroleum products with no limit on flashpoint.

Capacity of six cargo tanks and two slop tanks 8100 cu. m, deadweight in the sea – 6980 tons with a draft of 4.20 m in the river sediment at 3.60 m – 5378 tons, speed of operation – 10.0 knots.
