«Rosteft» is investing approximately 150 million dollars in construction of new ships

JSC “Rosneft” Petroleum Company” is planning to invest about 150 million US dollars in construction of new vessels in 2010-2013. According to Andrey Aprelenko, Director General of ZAO “Rosnefteflot”, new ships are built at shipbuilding facilities of JSC “Far East Centre of Shipbuilding and Ship Repair” – sub-holding of JSC “United Shipbuilding Corporation”.

The project includes two oil garbage collectors (plus two under the option agreement) of a unique design never used in Russia before, two ice class azimuth thrusters (plus two under the option agreement) with the capacity of 2 575 kW each, two ice class azimuth thrusters with the capacity of 4 000 kW each and two ice class tankers (plus two under the option agreement) with the deadweight tonnage of 3 100 tonnes.

This large-scale shipbuilding project scheduled for 2010-2013 involves domestic shipbuilding companies of the Russian Far East: Khabarovsky Shipbuilding Plant, Amursky Shipbuilding Plant, Far East Plant “Zvezda” and design bureaus “Vympel” and “Rikoshet”. With their advanced design and sophisticated equipment the vessels are going to meet today’s highest international standards.
