By the Directive of the Government of the Russian Federation №417-p dated 25/03/2010, the sea port Vitino was included into the list of sea ports of the Russian Federation where ships equipped and other crafts with atomic propulsion units and radiation sources approved by the Directive of the Russian Federation №14-p dated 6/01/1997. This was reported by the Arkhangelsk branch of FGUP “Rosmorport”.
The Sea Port Vitino located on the coast of the Kandalaksha Gulf of the White Sea specialized in storage and transshipment of such petroleum as black oil (May-October) and gas condensate (stabilized) as well as gasoline. It is the only port of the White Sea region transshipping crude oil. The port’s outloading capacity is 11 mln tons. The only port operator is OOO “The Sea Special-Purpose Port Vitino”. In 2009, its cargo turnover amounted to 4,358.7 ths tons.
