Sovkomflot and United Shipbuilding Corporation Agreed on Constructing Marine Engineering at Far East
November 25, 2009
On November 18, Sovkomflot Group and United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC), OJSC, signed a set of teem agreements on organization of marine engineering construction at shipbuilding facilities currently being developed in Primorsky Territory.
The agreements provide working out engineering and commercial conditions of construction of at least six tankers with some 160 thousand ton deadweight each as well as of four LNG-tankers with up to 175 thousand ton deadweight, the crafts to be constructed at newly-developed facilities of USC in Primorsky Territory.
The parties also signed a tripartite arrangement with NOVATEK Company on working out organizational conditions of building of drilling platforms and vessels to be operated at gas fields of the Yamal peninsula and facilities for subsequent gas transportation to end users, including the transportation via the Northern Sea Route, the facilities to be constructed at USC plants in Primorsky Territory.
