As estimated by General Director of OAO Admiralteyskie Verfi, this year Saint-Petersburg shipbuilding enterprises will secure orders for RUR 23-25 bln. As explained by Aleksandrov, only in the first quarter of this year the sector secured orders for the amount of RUR 9.5 bln while for 12 months of 2009 the order cost amounted to RUR 6.5 bln. This was communicated to reporters by General Director of Admiralteyskie Verfi at the press-conference dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Saint-Petersburg, informs the reporter of AbNews.
At the same time the profitability level decreased from 25% down to 15% and even less, said Aleksandrov. He believes that manufacturers are to tighten control of material procurement and reduce production costs. “We feel some pressure on the part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation in this regard and I guess it will lead to positive solutions,” said Aleksandrov.
