Water Transport to Connect Residential and Central Districts of Saint-Petersburg

The Saint-Petersburg Committee on Transport and Transit Strategy intends to connect residential and central districts of Saint-Petersburg by means of water transport. Capacity of vessels used on city routes will be increased from 12 to 30-50 passengers.
Saint-Petersburg Water Taxi project is expected to be implemented in 2011. The projects provides for installation of berth facilities within walking distance from large hotels, historical monuments, entertainment and business centers.
The works are to be carried out in strict adherence to the regulation for architectural and decorative appearance of water transport facilities elaborated by the Town Development and Architecture Committee.
