World Largest PLB Performs Nord Stream Laying

On September 1, the world largest pipe laying barge Solitaire (Allseas company) started operation in the Russian waters. Castoro Sei and Castoro Dieci (Saipem) participate in construction, too.
Solitaire is equipped with a dynamic positioning system and uses no anchors. This type of a vessel is conditioned by characteristics of the work area where lots of mines are left after world wars of the last century.
