Yantar’s Birthday

On July 8, 2010, Yantar Shipyard, affiliate of OAO United Shipbuilding Corporation, is to celebrate its 65 anniversary. In honor of the anniversary, a project 22010 oceanographic vessel will be laid down. The vessel will be named Yantar.
Shipbuilding contract with the Ministry of Defense was concluded in February, 2009. The project was drawn up at Central Marine Design Bureau Almaz; it comprises the recent developments of Russian designers. The DWT is 5.2 thousand tons; length, 108.1 m; beam, 17.2 m. The vessel is to be delivered in the middle of 2013.
The Keel-Laying Ceremony will take place on July 8 at 2 p.m. at Yantar Shipyard’s staple. High officials of the Ministry of Defense, representatives of United Shipbuilding Corporation and Government of the Kaliningrad Region will participate in the ceremony.
