Yantar Shipyard wins RF Ministry of Defense tender for construction of three frigates for Black See Fleet

Yantar Shipyard (Kaliningrad), a member of United Shipbuilding Corporation was reported by the shipyard press service to have won a tender by the RF Ministry of Defense for construction of three frigates for the Black See Fleet. The tender results announcement was on October 8, 2010.
The contract, which sum is confidential will have been signed till the end of October, 2010.
The frigates of the project 11356 will have been constructed at the shipyard for the Russian Navy till the end of 2014.
Yantar Shipyard was established at the facilities of Konigsberg branch of Schichau Shipyard in 1945. It constructs both civil vessels and war ships. Its major shareholders are United Shipbuilding Corporation (32.26% of shares) and Western Shipbuilding Center, a member of United Shipbuilding Corporation (51% of shares).
