Yaroslavsky Shipbuilding Plant to Deliver the Lead Sea-Going Diving Ship Constructed for Gosmorspassluzhba in the Autumn of 2010

As agreed with the Federal Marine and River Transport Agency of the Ministry of Transportation of the Russian Federation (Rosmorrechflot), OAO Yaroslavsky Shipbuilding Plant is to name the lead sea-going diving ship Stolny Grad Yaroslavl. It will be delivered to the customer by the 1000 anniversary of Yaroslavl to be celebrated in the autumn of 2010. Two next diving ships to be delivered in 2011 will be named Rostov Veliky and Uglich, communicated the press-service of Mintrans summarizing the results of the business trip to the enterprise of the head of the Ministry Igor Levitin.

Earlier it was reported that the lead vessel of SDS08 series was laid down on August 28, 2009. The second vessel – Rostov Veliky was laid down on March 9, 2010, and the third vessel on March 12, 2010. The customer of this order is the Federal Marine and River Transport Agency of the Ministry of Transportation of the Russian Federation (Rosmorrechflot). The vessels are being constructed for needs of FGU Gosmorspassluzhba Rossii.

The multi-function rescue and salvage ship is designated to support diving and underwater-engineering works at a depth of down to 100 meters with sea state up to 3. The vessel can also participate in rescue, ship-raising and hydraulic engineering works. Ice 2 class vessel parameters are as follows: overall length 38.35 m, length between perpendiculars 36.35 m, beam overall about 7.92 m, design waterline beam 7.7 m, design waterline draught 2.1 m, full speed 11 knots, cruising speed 8 knots, capacity of main engines 2 × 442 KW, sea endurance 5 days.
